Our Founder: Don Julio González

In 1942, at just 17 years old, Don Julio González-Frausto Estrada had a dream — to revolutionize the world of tequila. With little more than passion, integrity, and ambition, he began distilling tequila in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, using only the finest blue agave plants and traditional production methods.

His goal wasn’t mass production — it was craftsmanship. Don Julio focused on quality over quantity, aging his tequila longer and nurturing the agave with care. His approach changed the industry forever and inspired generations of tequila makers around the world.

🌵 The Agave
Our tequila starts with the finest 100% Blue Weber Agave, grown in the rich red clay soil of Jalisco’s Highlands. The plants are hand-harvested at peak maturity to ensure the perfect balance of sweetness and strength.

🔥 The Process
Each agave piña is slow-cooked in traditional masonry ovens for up to 72 hours. This patient process extracts the agave’s natural sugars, creating the foundation of our signature smoothness.

⚗️ Distillation & Aging
Our tequila is double-distilled and aged in American white oak barrels, allowing the flavors to mature into their distinct profiles — from the crisp and lively Don Julio Blanco to the rich, complex Don Julio 1942.
